Spotlight
Dr. Morris Israel is an expert in water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) and water resources management with over 30 years of global experience managing and implementing rural water supply and sanitation, market-based sanitation, and WASH sector governance and institutional development activities for and on behalf of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Until recently, he served as Chief of Party for both phases of the USAID-funded WASH Partnerships and Learning for Sustainability (WASHPaLS) project. In this role, he managed a diverse, multidisciplinary team that successfully implemented community-led total sanitation, area-wide sanitation, market-based sanitation, hygienic environments, and menstrual health and hygiene in the workplace research activities in 20 countries in Africa and Asia. As Director of Tetra Tech’s Water Resources and Infrastructure Sector, he was responsible for the sector’s strategic direction, overseeing its activities and programs with a portfolio of over $150 million, managing technical staff, and providing technical expertise to field projects.
